That was interesting to watch, and I look forward to the next installment. I was going to comment that the click quite often seemed to happen right as she was dropping the toy, but you had a good couple at the end.
I've been doing something similar with Luna. She will retrieve but drops the toy 5-20 ft. away, depending where we are, and will not bring it. She will lay there and look from me to the toy forever, while the other dogs repeatedly retrieve theirs. I started some clicker work to get her to pick up the ball and drop it in a container just in front of me, and have started to expand on that a bit now.
Love the clicker work:)

Hi Karen,

I am actually trying to click for the step after the pick up. Which usually coincides with her dropping it. My timing needs to be better for sure though!

I've decided to teach the delivering part on the ground. I will have my hand out and will click for any motion towards my hand with the toy. I don't think it will take long.

This is pretty similiar to how I taught Pixel to bring me the toy. She wanted it in the first place though so I got to skip the first part. :)

I will video again for sure!

I thought it was an interesting example of how to teach a retrieve. Most interesting to me though was watching my dog crank her head aaaalllll the way to one side, then tilt it allll the way back, over and over, listening to the video.

good girl Brit!
I can hear that Wicca is being her usual "patient" self :)
